Portland continues to earn its reputation as a top food destination — and this time, it’s for pizza.
Lovely’s Fifty Fifty, a beloved Portland pizza and ice cream shop, has been named one of the 2025 top 10 Must-Visit Pizzerias in the United States by Food & Wine magazine.
The national recognition comes as part of Food & Wine’s 2025 Global Tastemakers Awards, which highlight the most exciting pizza destinations across the country.
The publication praised chefs who are redefining what pizza can be — from new baking techniques to locally sourced toppings and seasonal ingredients.

At the center of Portland’s pizza scene is Chef Sarah Minnick, owner of Lovely’s Fifty Fifty.
Since opening in 2010, Minnick has built a loyal following for her wood-fired pizzas, farm-fresh toppings, and small-batch ice cream made from Oregon’s seasonal bounty.
“Painter-turned-chef Sarah Minnick makes hyperlocal and super seasonal pizza and ice cream,” Food & Wine wrote. “Think foraged mushrooms, dark leafy greens, and edible flowers on whole-grain sourdough crust — always save room for ice cream, especially during Oregon’s strawberry season.”
Minnick’s creative approach to pizza and commitment to local farms have made Lovely’s Fifty Fifty a must-visit restaurant for Portland locals and travelers alike.
Her use of foraged mushrooms, organic produce, and house-fermented dough showcases the best of Oregon’s seasonal ingredients.
Featured in Netflix’s Chef’s Table in 2022, Minnick shared her story of transforming from art student to one of the Pacific Northwest’s most celebrated chefs.
Her passion for local ingredients continues to define her menu.
Lovely’s Fifty Fifty is open daily from 5-10 p.m. at 4039 N. Mississippi Avenue, Portland.
Whether you’re a local Oregonian searching for your next favorite restaurant or a traveler exploring the city’s best pizza shops, this neighborhood pizzeria offers a true taste of the Pacific Northwest with its creative toppings, local ingredients, and one-of-a-kind ice cream.
