Several beloved Washington small businesses were recognized as places people would gladly drive more than an hour to visit.
Several beloved Washington small businesses were recognized as places people would gladly drive more than an hour to visit.
According to a new Devoted Drives survey from Advance Funds Network, Washington is home to some of the most visited and most loved small businesses in the country.
The nationwide survey of more than 3,000 respondents asked one simple question: Which small business in your state would you be willing to go out of your way to visit?
The answers highlighted how deeply people connect with local, independent businesses that offer quality products, memorable experiences, nostalgia, and a sense of community.

Topping the list in Washington is Easy Street Records in West Seattle.
The longtime record shop has been a cornerstone of the local music scene for decades and continues to draw visitors from across the region.
Easy Street is known for its massive vinyl selection, live performances, in-store café, and deep roots in Seattle’s music history. For many, it is not just a place to shop but a destination tied to personal memories and shared culture.

Coming in second is Pink Gorilla Games, a Seattle favorite for retro and rare video games.
The shop has built a strong following by offering classic consoles, hard-to-find titles, and a welcoming space for gamers of all ages.
Survey respondents pointed to the thrill of discovery and the shop’s nostalgic appeal as reasons they are willing to make the drive. For many customers, a visit to Pink Gorilla feels like stepping back into their childhood.

Rounding out the top three is Village Books in Bellingham.
The independent bookstore, set near the waterfront, has long been a gathering place for readers, writers, and visitors exploring downtown.
With multiple floors, author events, and a café overlooking the bay, Village Books is often described as an experience rather than a quick stop.
The survey results show how strongly people value Washington’s small businesses and how each one feels personal and rooted in their communities.
Whether it is music, gaming, or books, Washington’s top picks share a common thread. They give people a reason to slow down, stay awhile, and come back again.
Sometimes the most meaningful destinations are not landmarks or attractions. They are the local places people love enough to go the extra mile for.
Advance Funds Network determined the rankings after evaluating 150 businesses nationwide based on whether customers said they would drive more than an hour to visit.
The businesses recognized were described as places that inspire loyalty and personal connection.
