A Washington-based coffee chain is expanding into Pierce County, giving Puyallup another locally rooted option for coffee, breakfast, and quick stops.

Woods Coffee plans to open its first Pierce County coffeehouse at 1115 E. Main Ave. in Puyallup during the final week of September, according to The News Tribune.

The new shop will bring the Bellingham-area company farther south in Western Washington.

When will the new Woods Coffee in Puyallup open?

Woods Coffee spokesperson Ryan Spiker told The News Tribune that the company is targeting the last week of September for the opening. An exact opening date had not been announced.

The coffeehouse will open at 1115 E. Main Ave., in a building previously occupied by Taco Time.

What does Woods Coffee offer to Pacific Northwest locals and travelers?

The Puyallup location is expected to feature the Pacific Northwest-inspired design found at other Woods Coffee shops, including a fireplace and an interior designed around a cabin-in-the-woods setting.

Woods Coffee says its Western Washington coffeehouses typically feature fireplaces and cabin-inspired spaces. Many locations also offer drive-thru service and mobile ordering.

The menu includes hot and cold coffee drinks, including lattes, mochas, and cold brew, along with tea and other beverages. Food options at Woods Coffee include breakfast sandwiches, burritos, pastries, and other items made through the company’s bakery.

Where else can people find Woods Coffee in Washington?

Woods Coffee has operated in the Pacific Northwest for nearly 25 years and is based in Lynden, Washington. Its existing coffeehouses are concentrated across Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, and King counties.

That includes locations farther south in communities such as Bellevue, Bothell, Issaquah, and Renton. The Puyallup opening extends the chain into another part of the South Sound.

The new Puyallup Woods Coffee is expected to open during the last week of September at 1115 E. Main Ave.
