Summer may be winding down, but one of Oregon’s biggest seasonal traditions is just getting started.

The 2026 Oregon State Fair opens Friday, Aug. 28, at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem, bringing 11 days of carnival rides, fair food, animals, competitions, exhibits, and live entertainment.

The fair runs through Labor Day, Sept. 7. This year’s celebration will also recognize America’s 250th anniversary with themed attractions and competitions.

What to expect at the 2026 Oregon State Fair

Visitors will find many of the activities that return to Salem each year, including carnival games and rides, livestock barns, 4-H and FFA exhibits, horse shows and creative competitions.

The fair’s family attractions include flying pig races, a canine circus, African acrobats, a stunt show and a petting farm.

Creature Feature Extreme will also return with reptiles, amphibians, arthropods and other animals.

Thrill-seekers can ride Medusa, one of the fair’s featured attractions. The ride requires a separate $10 ticket. Carnival rides begin at 11 a.m. each day.

Who is performing at the Oregon State Fair?

The Columbia Bank Concert Series will bring a different performer to the L.B. Day Amphitheatre each day of the fair.

The 2026 lineup includes:

  • Nate Smith, Aug. 28
  • Al Jardine of the Beach Boys and The Pet Sounds Band, Aug. 29
  • Walker Hayes, Aug. 30
  • BigXThaPlug, Aug. 31
  • Clint Black, Sept. 1
  • Ben Fuller, Sept. 2
  • All Time Low, Sept. 3
  • Jo Dee Messina, Sept. 4
  • Uncle Kracker, Sept. 5
  • Twisted Sister featuring Sebastian Bach, Sept. 6
  • “Weird Al” Yankovic, Sept. 7

Most shows begin at 7:30 p.m. “Weird Al” will close out the series with a 4 p.m. Labor Day performance.

Al Jardine and The Pet Sounds Band replaced The Beach Boys, who canceled their Aug. 29 appearance. Previously purchased Beach Boys tickets will remain valid for the replacement performance.

How much are Oregon State Fair tickets?

Discounted admission is available before the fair begins:

  • Adults ages 13 to 64: $10
  • Children ages 6 to 12: $8
  • Children 5 and younger: Free
  • Adults 65 and older: $3
  • Family four-pack: $25
  • Full 11-day pass: $25

At the gate, admission increases to $12 for adults and $10 for children ages 6 to 12. The fair is free for children 5 and younger and $3 for visitors 65 and older.

What are the Oregon State Fair hours?

The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Aug. 28 and 29, as well as Sept. 4 through Sept. 6.

It will close at 10 p.m. from Aug. 30 through Sept. 3 and on Labor Day.

The Oregon State Fairgrounds are located at 2330 17th Street NE in Salem. Tickets and additional information are available through the Oregon State Fair website.
