Washington State Fair returns to Puyallup: See the daily schedule

The Washington State Fair is back in Puyallup, bringing nearly a month of concerts, carnival rides, fair food, livestock and other events.

The 2026 fair opened Friday, Sept. 4, at the Washington State Fair Event Center. Visitors have 20 days to enjoy rides, animals, agricultural exhibits, competitions, live entertainment and plenty of classic fair food.

The fair runs through Sunday, Sept. 27. It will be closed every Tuesday, along with Wednesday, Sept. 9.

This year marks the fair’s 126th anniversary and features several activities celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

What can visitors do at the 2026 Washington State Fair?

Along with fair food, shopping, animals and exhibits, visitors can enjoy several attractions that have been part of the fair for generations, including:

The Antique Carousel

The antique carousel has operated at the fair since 1923, while the Classic Coaster, its wooden roller coaster, dates back to 1935.

Popular Rides

Other rides include the Grand Wheel, Giant Slide and Extreme Scream, which carries riders about 20 stories above the fairgrounds.

Labor Day Weekend Deals

The fair’s Labor Day weekend celebration runs through Monday, Sept. 7.

Children ages 18 and younger can enter free throughout the weekend, and visitors can enjoy performances across four stages at no additional cost.

Guests who attend during opening weekend can also receive a coupon for free admission on select weekdays later in September while supplies last.

Labor Day will feature a reggae concert and an unlimited-ride Dizzy Pass available for Monday only.

K9 Kings Flying Dog Show

New for 2026 is the K9 Kings Flying Dog Show, featuring rescue and shelter dogs performing aerial tricks and other routines. The show is included with admission and takes place three times a day throughout the fair.

Our Food, Our Farms, Our Washington

The fair has also expanded its Our Food, Our Farms, Our Washington exhibit, which highlights agriculture and food production across the state.

America 250th

Visitors can also find several activities marking America’s 250th anniversary, including the Freedom Truck traveling museum and exhibits exploring American history.

What animals will be at the Washington State Fair?

Animals and agriculture are a large part of the fair.

Some livestock exhibits change throughout September. Draft horses will be there for the full run, and visitors can also stop by the Fair Farm.

Depending on the day, visitors may see cattle, goats, rabbits, sheep, pigs, horses, llamas and poultry. Dairy cattle are scheduled for Sept. 10-14, while several 4-H livestock exhibits will be featured Sept. 16-21.

Later in the month, the fair will welcome more poultry, sheep, Boer goats and pygmy goats. Check the livestock schedule before visiting if there is a particular animal you want to see.

The Columbia Bank Concert Series returns to the Washington State Fair with performances throughout September.

When is the Puyallup Rodeo?

The Puyallup Rodeo returns to the Washington State Fair from Sept. 10 through Sept. 13.

The rodeo is part of the PRCA Cinch Playoff Series and includes five performances during its four-day run.

Rodeo tickets include same-day Washington State Fair admission.

Evening rodeos from Sept. 10 through Sept. 12 are followed by Dancin’ in the Dirt concerts.

Gretchen Wilson performs Sept. 10, Dylan Marlowe performs Sept. 11 and Chase Rice performs Sept. 12.

How much are Washington State Fair tickets?

Online admission prices vary depending on whether visitors attend on a weekday or weekend.

Weekday online admission is:

• $15 for general admission, ages 13 and older

• $13 for children ages 6 to 12

• $13 for adults 65 and older

• Free for children 5 and younger

Weekend online admission is:

• $18 for general admission, ages 13 and older

• $15 for children ages 6 to 12

• $15 for seniors 65 and older

• Free for children 5 and younger

Tickets cost slightly more when purchased at the gate.

Weekday gate admission is:

• $16 for visitors 13 and older

• $14 for children ages 6 to 12

A season pass providing admission throughout the fair is $59.50.

Military Appreciation Day takes place every Friday, offering free admission to eligible active-duty, reserve and retired military members, National Guard members, disabled veterans and their dependents with valid military identification.

A school supply drive will provide free admission from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 11 with a suggested donation of new school supplies.

The fair is closed on Wednesday, Sept. 9, and every Tuesday.

How much are Washington State Fair ride tickets?

Visitors can purchase Funcard tickets for rides and games at the following prices:

• $30 for 24 tickets

• $60 for 54 tickets

• $100 for 95 tickets

or

• $60 for an unlimited Dizzy Pass during weekdays

• $70 for an unlimited Dizzy Pass during weekends and holidays

Most rides require five to eight tickets.

Each Dizzy Pass is valid for one day and includes two free games. The passes do not include fair admission or access to the Extreme Scream, Big Sling and Adventure Zone rides.
